Extreme cold warnings have been posted for almost every day in February.
Yesterday was brutal. This afternoon was also very cold . I had given up putting in a run today. Late afternoon, I walked over to the Beer Store ot pick up a couple of Heineken Beer.. I was feeling down and in need of some soothing. I realized that the cold was less brutal than earlier in the day. . I decided I should try for a run.
Ran 6.49K.
This evening, I am feeling better. The below zero temperatures, ice and snow have stopped me on a number of days from training.

Tuesday 24 Feb.
Cold weather has interfered with my training.
Following a two-day layoff because of a severe cold weather warning, I ran in the late afternoon.
Distance 6.33K. I was tired and not feeling 100%. On a positive note, its a run.

I did not run today. I went to Learn to Curl. I decided to take lessons with the long-term goal of becoming a "curler." Most Sunday afternoons since the latter part of October I have been learning how to "curl". So far, I like it. This Friday afternoon (coming) I have signed up for a "real " game. Hoping, I have a good experience.
My goals for the week are to get in some training. & hopefully do some snow shoeing.

Late afternoon, I was in the running spirit. It was snowing heavily, and the paths and the roads had not been plowed.
Did a 6.82K. Feel very good about my run. as it was it was rough going.
Feeling stiff. A yoga class or a bath might be a good idea.

Decided it was too cold to run on Thursday and Friday. Got some walking in doing my errands.

Today's run 8.07K Pleased with the run. 8K. Temp.was -7C.
Slow running for most of the route. the sidewalks have a substantial amount of snow and ice. have to run with caution.
Yesterday (Tuesday) was colder than today. I ran 6.57K. Temp was -14C.

Sunday Feb. 16 - The Canadian Winter
Temperature is -24C. Did my run in the late afternoon. Once I got going, I adjusted to the cold and did a slow 6.21K. The forecast for the next five days is more of the same temperatures.

Friday the thirteenth of February
very cold. Late afternoon, managed to brave the cold and put in 6.5K. Made my day.
I now realize how lousy my blog is. Basically, I record my running each day. I need to find a way to write a more interesting blog.

My training is technically based on distance. I have a Garmin 10. It register time and distance, however as there is lots of snow and ice and traffic to contend with on my run, I don't bother about my time.

The winter is getting to me. I managed to get my run done in the late afternoon. Ran 6.24K/ temperature was -13C. focus of my was to run a distance of 6k or more. Not easy running on the ice and snow on the sidewalks and roads.

This winter has gotten to me. Today was another cold one. 5pm I got myself ready to do a run.
The orads and sidewalks are The footing was difficult. Ran 6.25 K.
Late afternoon, the temperature dropped substantially. I got run done. it was a slow one. the sidewalks have a 2-3 inch covering of snow.

Ran late afternoon approx. 5PM/ light snow and the Sidewalks and roads were not plowed. It was a nice run. I did not time the run. Lots of snow. A good workout for my leg muscles. Distance 6.9K, happy. Earlier in the morning I walked to a coffee shop and back. Approx. distance 6K.

A very cold day. late afternoon, I managed to motivate myself to do a run.
. Temperature was - 17C and the sidewalks and roads were icy and had not been cleared from the last night's snow. Twice I had to stop running and get off the road and climb up on the snow bank to let the plows go by. Distance 5.95K . Considering the below Zero temperature, I am happy with the distance of my run.
