Slow month for running and training. On the upside, I signed up for Juneathon and I have managed to post every day. My training has dropped off.
I need to set definite goals. If you are reading this post, check back later and read about what I am up to.

Not happy about the soccer game against England
Lousy morning - 14C and it has been raining. Decided to skip Yoga...

Saturday June 27
Plan for today.
Watch Soccer, and errands,
Watching the Canada and England soccer game. The girls got themselves 2 goals down. Keeping my fingers crossed they can score and win this.
England has won the game.
Disappointed. I am not a good sport.
I think the English coach is a jerk of the highest order.
And John Herdman, coach of Canadian women's team, is not worthy of coaching the team and should be replaced.
Time to focus on my comings and goings and business....

June 26
Great weather 28C. I am following the FIFA women's Soccer World Cup, which is being played in Canada. .
I was hoping that France would win against Germany. It was not to be.
The China - US game is being played in Ottawa and is about to get under way.
I am cheering for China. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I am taking a day off from Running.
Went for a ride on my bike this morning, and a walk this evening. One of those days when I feel tired and flat.

Juneathon 25 June
Very humid in Kingston. . Got the run done in the late afternoon.
A slow run. I seem to be tired.
Distance: 5.67 K
Pace: 7:04
My training has dropped off and my fitness has suffered too.
I need to be better organized and set new goals.
I am entered in the Army Run. (September)
Looking into another run - not sure where.
Thinking of trying to do a bike ride. This would give me an additional training route..

Monday Juneathon 15
Spent the weekend in Toronto.
Home in Kingston.
FIFA women's soccer is in the Knock Out stage.
England and Canada have moved into the quarter-final (Round of 8). On Saturday they play each other in Vancouver. I am excited.
I was born in the Greater Manchester area. I have lived in Canada since I was 8 years old.
It is strange ( or is it?) that I still have very strong feelings for Manchester.
On the good side. I have not decided who I am supporting.

Juneathon Day 16
Training run in the late afternoon. High humidity. 24C
Distance: 5.57k
Time: 36:14
Pace: 6:30
I am following the FIFA Women's Soccer. My favorites are Canada and England.
Both are considered underdogs. The US and Germany are considered most likely to win.
Canada has advanced to the round of 16.
Hoping England will qualify for the 16's. They play tomorrow against Columbia.
Started reading "Down and Out in Paris and London"- (George Orwell) . Purchased the book last September. Book is mentioned in Bill Clinton's biography. It is interesting and well-written.
I have also added 1984 to my library. Got a second-hand edition in near mint condition at a library book sale. The library sells off donated books and the proceeds go to the library's fund.

Getting ready to eat supper (stir fry chicken, vegies and rice) and a Stella Artois beer.
Big soccer game starting in 45 minutes. FIFA World Soccer championship. - Canada is playing the Netherlands and hoping to move on to the round of 16.

Juneathon 12
Rained all day.
Rode my bike approx.5k and went for a 5K walk.
Watching FIFA soccer. Japan and Cameroon in Vancouver. Cameroon is a fast and rough team. The fans at BC Place seem to have adopted Cameroon as their team. I am impressed with their fast and aggressive play. Keeping my fingers crossed they (Cameroon) can win their next game and move into the next round.

Juneathon 10
Late night post.
I am one-third of the way thru Juneathon.
Today I walked several km and rode my bike 10k.
I have been reading Snow by Orhan Pamuk. The book was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature.
It has been a long read, two months and a couple of weeks. I found it to be a difficult book to get into.
The story takes place in Kars, Turkey. And is very relevant to the present day issues with Islam.
It is certainly worth checking out.

I have tried to post on a Wordpress Blog. It is a running blog and linked to Juneathon. I use Blogger, and I do not have a Wordpress account. Very Frustrating that I am not allowed to post. ...
Watching the FIFA Soccer. Canada is the host country. We won our first game, however, I don't think we are in contention. There are many good teams here. The US, and Brazil, and look to be very good teams.
I pushed hard on yesterday's run, and I am still recovering. This afternoon I went for a slow 5k run...

Juneathon Day 1
I have signed up again. Happy to be on board with Juneathon. It is a commitment .
Motivated to get my training done.
Ran at 5pm /17:00hrs. I am tired of Garmin. Some days it works well. However, for the most part, Garmin involves too much time and messing.
Part of the problem - is getting my data back from Garmin, And - I use / rely on free stuff on the internet.
From now on, I am going to use Map My Run.
Did a good run today.
DISTANCE - 8.56K
