Sunday, January 31
Walked to Chapters Bookstore to pick up a book I had ordered. "Sailing Alone Around the World. - Joshua Slocum had a snack at Subway and walked home.  Distance. 8,50km
nice walking weather, however, rain (not snow on the walk home).

Ran in morning. 5.33 km 

Curled in the afternoon. (6 ends ). 
A friendly game, we came out on top.

to try to improve my writings and posts. make them more interesting to read.

Wednesday January 27

First run in several days. 
Distance 5.47km. Good. 
Need more self-discipline.Happy. Time to get serious about my running and my goals.

Got a call this evening, seems I am curling on Friday.
 Fridays, I curl in the Senior Mixed league.  Okay. I need to organize my time better.

I did not run. Busy getting caught up with mundane daily chores.
It was cold and I walked around town getting my messages up to date.

Sunday, January 24.
Took Via Rail to Toronto in the AM. Spent a nice afternoon wandering around the stores (shops) in downtown TO.
Walker over to the Air Canada Center and checked in.

 I have a ticket to the Toronto Raptors Basketball game against the LA Clippers. Got the ticket from Laurentian  University Alumni.  I am alumni. B.A., and B.Ed. 
 Had a nice time. And Toronto won the game which was great.
Tiring day.   arrived home at 4 am.

Monday, January 25
on very little sleep, got to the Curling club and played. I  play  lead in  an afternoon league.  We won.

 Tuesday , January 26  
Curling  feeling rested, curled in the afternoon. We won and are now 4 wins and 1 loss. there is one week left in the draw.

Friday 23 January

- busy day. got my run done early.  Ran 5.58km- late morning. 
Fridays  I curl in the Mixed league.  Teams change every week. I curled well, but we lost. Had a great supper at the club. Salmon and some kind of pesto sauce. Very good. Nice evening. 
Cold night, one of my fellow curlers gave me a lift home. Greatly appreciated.

The temperature in Kingston is Minus 18C, and it feels like -29C.
I have decided not to run today. Too cold for me.

Sunday 17 January.

 Around noon, - started to snow.
Late afternoon, I went for my run. Pleased with my run, it was snowing, cold. I had to be cautious due to the icy road conditions.

Tuesday January 12 and Wednesday January 13

Woke up to the  biggest snow storm this year.   I had a league curling game in the afternoon.    Took Kingston transit ( the bus) to the Curling Club. skip was back, and we managed to pull off a win. We won on the last-8th end.
Happy to get home.
 I did not run today.

Wednesday, Jan 13. Very cold.
 Decided not to run - too cold.

Walked downtown and bought groceries,
Happy to be Home.

Janathon Day 11

Attended a curling practice and learning session. 2 hours. Very good. learned lots and enjoyed it.

Ran in the late afternoon. around  17:00 hours. ( 5 pm).
It was cold. Ran 5.7km.  Happy with the  with the curling and run training.

Saturday January 9 . did not run, Walked to town to do my shopping and had a coffee and muffin at Tim Hortons.

Crazy day. 
I  don't usually run in the morning. I did today. 
5.78km at a slow pace. 
On the good side, I got the run done. 

Rest of the day was not  very good.
I went curling. Not sure, I like curling. Need to give it more thought before I make a final decision.

Thursday January 7 - Climate Change

Climate change is definitely here.
I live in Kingston , Ontario, Canada. 
This is January.   The daytime temperature was 2C.  I walked thru my neighborhood park. the boards are up for the outdoor rinks. there is no ice for skating. It is not cold enough for ice.
We had one snow fall ,  and the snow melted. 

I did my training run in the late afternoon. 6.68km. Happy with my run.

 I will try to take some pics over the weekend.
Hoping I will be able to share my goals for the 2015 soon.

 Ran in the late afternoon.  Distance 4.6km.  
On the upside, I got the run done.  
 My goal is to run a minimum of 5 km  on run days.

Tuesday January 5

Busy day.  On Tuesdays, I curl in  a ladies curling League, at the Cataraqui Club in Kingston
Our team was down 2 players, but we got 2 spares and curled well. We won against a highly rated  team in our league. Very happy about this. 
On Curling days, I usually don't run. 
Very cold in Kingston.

Monday January 4

The winter has arrived.  A frigid -20C at the time of my run , Layered in  thermal underwear and run gear - I ran in the late afternoon, Distance 5.38km. Happy with my run.

I have not  finalized my 2015 run goals.

Last year, I took up the sport of curling.I took the "learned to Curl' program  offered my the Canadian Curling Association. .
This season, I curl twice a week. on Tuesday and Friday,

I have signed up for Janathon 2016.
New Years Day, went for a walk - approx 5k.
January 2 - late afternoon run. 7.18km. longest in some time.
lots of ice and slippery patches on the sidewalk and running path.
