Last post  for 2013 Juneathon. 

.The weather was /is superb. .28C downtown Kingston.  Biked downtown and had a great cappuccino at Coffeeco  Market Square.  Nice place and the coffee is good.

Then home and dressed for my run. . Did a  4,5K Approx. 30 + min jog.  Very happy with my run , Biking provided  me helped as a good warm up.
  Did 20 squats. 20 push ups and 40 crunches/ .

 Last day and post for Juneathon 2013. 

No interaction with other Bloggers  .That is disappointing...... My experience has  been - that runners are a friendly bunch.... . Apparently not this group. it’s a  list of names and twitter accounts   .

On the good side I did get into the habit of writing everyday.  I need to keep more accurate records of my training and have a better training plan. 

I am registered in  two runs .. Toronto Oasis Zoo in September  and the Scotia Bank Toronto 
Marathon in October. Running  5K in both .

Nice day. Sunny 22C.  
This morning  - biked  25K ,
  Late afternoon, bike down the lake , Warmed up and  did a 4K run along the lake  path to the    to the Maritime Museum of the Great Lakes And Then to the water treatment  plant and  back to the Time Monument. Distance..  4K+.
Did my  Fitness Challenge 25 squats,  25 Push-ups and 40 crunches.
 Late Supper .

Quiet night at home. Listening to Kenny G  and Jack Johnson. My flag is flying on my balcony ready  for Canada Day (July1),   After I hit “enter” , plan is to  read and have an early night.

Tomorrow is the last day of this project. Till then.

A slow day.  grey sky and raining off and  then on. 
Walked and did some biking.
Did 25 crunches, 19 pushups and 20 squats

Long Weekend.  Canada Day is Monday.   Long weekend. Staying home.  Lots of things I need to do and get caught up on.

Hoping to take in a movie over the weekend and do some reading. 

2 Days and 2 posts  and the Juneathon is over. 
 Not sure how i feel about this experience. .– posting on my blog as become a habit.

Did a 25K bike ride.
And a few squats, pushups and  situps. 
Hoping tomorrow, I will bo more focused and put in a serious run.

Went to an amazing jazz concert.  At the Grand in Kingston.
Joshua Redman Quartet. He is absolutely the best  jazz saxophone player .

10:25 pm. .  Beautiful day. Did my run and workout at supper time.
Jogged along the water, and stopped to get in my fitness 30 Day Challenge exercises. 40 squats, 30 push-ups and 40 ab. Crunches - DONE.
Looking forward to Joshua Redman at the Kingston Jazz Festival tomorrow.

   Not sorts of sure about Juneathon or Running blogging.
 People are not friendly. I found it difficult to access the logos and gadgets.
I will finish the Juneathon. But I doubt I will do it again. The blogs are all over the place. Few focus on running or fitness .

24th day of June 19:00 hrs EST.

 30 day Fitness Challenge=  Today  was a rest day.

 I ran at 5pm. Due to the heat- the temp.  25 C but with the humidly it feels like 31,,,I decided to change the way i organize my training. Usually my training is based on distance. Today I used  time as the measure  for my run. I did a 30 minute run.  Pace was slower than usual. Probably due to the intense sun and high humidity and temperature.  I am pleased with today's run,. 

 My goal is to complete Juneathon.  7 days to go. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Warm day 32C and humid.
 Completed my 30 day  fitness challenge: - 40 squats, 21 push-ups and 36 abs.
Biked 22K

Rode to Cataraqui shopping center and back home. Shopped for an Air Conditioner. 
 I have 2 fans; however my cats are finding the heat difficult – thinking an AC might be needed.

Tonight lots of goings on - the “Super Moon” and the walk across the Grand Canyon.

Saturday Night At Home

  Rained lots today, present temp. is 21C .The Weather Network is forecasting more rain,
Spent some time reading other blogs.  I would like to improve my blog.

Borrowed a DVD - Sunday in Kigali from the Kingston Public Library..
Planning to watch it after I finish this post.

Completed my fitness challenge - Day 10. 40 squats, 20 push-ups and 35 abs. 
 And A  very short 2K jog. 
Disappointed I did not do more….  I need to organize my time better.

Happy Summer Solstice

 Today is the Summer Solstice .  An important day on the calendar as it’s the  longest day of the year 2013.    Kingston  weather was great. 23C and sunny.  Hope you all had a nice day. .

This afternoons run was  the best one i have done this week.I
The weather was first rate. 20C , a slight breeze off the water . I felt relaxed. Took my time  and did a good warm up. stretching, push ups, sit ups moumtain climbs. and some yoga poses. 
Ran approx 4 K , felt good and did a good warm down. 

I seem to run better at the lake, I am usually more  relaxed .   And able to warm up and cool down properly. 

Had fish and veges for supper. Tried a new ice cream for desert. Nestle's Smarties .   Five Stars.

 Got a ticket to see Joshua Redman at the Grand  Next Thursday June 27/
.Think he plays  a great sax. 
I like jazz and classical music.

 Another great summer day. Although , the summer of 2013 is certainly a lot cooler than we are used to.
Biked down to the TimeMonument , Did a  good run along the lake trail.   A good breeze off the lake.
 My run started at the Time Monument and running  along the waterfront path, to Emily Street,  and along King Street  to the Maritime Museum and then looped back and ran to the water plant..  distance approx 4,5K.  A few Kiters were out on the lake.A  route mapped on Wed Jun 19 2013

Completed  day 6 of the  30 day challenge -Yoga Studio 330 - 10 squats. 20 full Push ups (2x10) and 31

Made a salad for supper. my own version of a Caesar salad. , romaine, green onions tomato, mandarin orange sections , Parmesan cheese,Kraft Asiago dressing and left over chicken. I thought it was good. As i live alone, i can cook what i want to eat and eat on my own schedule.

NHL Ice hockey final series is still on. Chicago and Boston. I am hoping Chicago Blackhawks will win the cup. Although i am not watching the games.

I took this pic a couple of years ago. Its part of the waterfront path. i named it "the cloud factory", as it reminds me of a scene  from the book and movie.

Biked 26K  to the Cataraqui Shopping and back home. 
Bought a new brand of cat  Food. Wellness .  

Completed Day 4 of the 30 Day Challenge
Day 5……70 or 100 squats, 16 push-ups and 31 crunches!

DONE- I did - 55 squats, 16 +15 push-ups and 31 crunches!
I added an extra 15 knee push-ups in place of the squats. (Have tender knees)

4pm  Napier - Union- Palace  4.3 K run. Pleased with my run. 
had a supper and large piece of chocolate cake (Duncan Hind) choclate Fudge with White Icing,
Made the cake this morning .

 Rainy Sunday. 
Sundays I go to  Yoga. The class is held outside yoga at Artillery Park. I decided that it would be cancelled due to the rain.
Spent a lazy morning “thinking” and reading”. Decided that today should be a ‘low key’ workout day.
Afternoon , I rode approx. 10k on my bike , and had a coffee....  
The rain has stopped and its sunny again. .

Having a quiet evening  TV and tidying up.   Probably a walk later on

Its Saturday night. 6:55PM  EST Canada. . And another fine summer day 24C
Day 3 of our new challenge and we're going for hot abs! You have 65 or 100 squats, 15 push-ups and 30 crunches my friends! Give it all you've got because we have a rest day tomorrow.

25 K bike ride, to pick up cat food for one of my cats. Smudge is a grey Tiger and 16 years old .She  has been experiencing some Kidney problems. however the vets at Kingston Veterinary Hospital are giving her good care and she seems somewhat better. I have 2 cats. The other, Tuffie is a Calico   2.5 years old .  Both are spayed.

Just finished supper , Pizza and  vegges. Planning to walk down town and have a gelato ( ice creaam Italian). and then back home  , do some reading and some tidying up. 
I have added to my bio and will give more info in the coming days.

T his morning -Completed day 2 of  30 DAY Challenger 
Completed  60 squats , 10 push-ups and 20 crunches challengers. . 

Biked 25k K

Changed shoes and did a run. 
Ran 4.3 K at a very good pace. 

Presently at home having a Stella Artois beer and getting ready to eat supper. Chicken Stir fry on rice.

 A busy day. Lots of things going on in my regular life  that need to be attended to.
 Mundane things . I did Laundry and  I went grocery  shopping . And   I made a Orange Almond Chicken  stir fry for supper.

I have started the 30 Day challenge Squat, Push-Up, Ab challenge. Completed day one of the Challenge..  Its on facebook.  thru Studio 330 (Yoga) Kingston 
50 Squats, 10 crunches and 5 full push-ups. the reps increase every day . and every fourth day is a rest day. 

 And i an taking an evening walk -  de = stress  myself.
. . Tomorrow is another day.

Ran earlier today.  4PM my time.  I would like to start doing morning or noon hour fitness training .
Temp approx. 19C. 4K . Ran at a good clip.  Rode my bike to do my errands.
Tomorrow I am starting a new fitness challenge.  Squats, Push-ups and Ab crunches.

If I have the energy, I would like to add Mountain Climbers,  Burpees.  My goal is to increase my overall body strength.

Did Yoga in the Park at 9:30 AM  (1HR)
a 3K run
60 Squats.     a few situps , pushups .
its 3 am  here. hoping this post will count for Saturday . 
Not the greatest day. Biked and walked  total time approx.45 minutes. 
I need to be more disciplined.

 Feeling better today. Had a reaction to the vaccine, there is redness and swelling in the area I was poked. 

Rained here almost all day.   
Did a 4.5K run in the rain, and a good warm down.  Did some biking around and about looking after my business affairs.

I had a Vaccination today. and have a sore arm and stiffness as a result.
Made the decision to walk today. Walked down town and back.

Nice sunny day in Kingston temp in the 18- 19 C with  a decent  breeze. Midafternoon, I biked to Le Moyne’s Point. Biked the trails.
My bike computer registered 34K ride. A good ride. Had an average speed of 17K .
I have been doing most of my runs and biking n the late afternoon.  I have decided I would like to  try training to the morning.  
Doing 25 sit ups and 20 pushups and 60 squats.

Biked 22K . My ride is a  Rocky Mountain Fusion.  

I have a Bike Computer a Sigma 509. I need to  use it more and an keep accurate record of my rides. 
Did 60 squats.  And some toning stuff at the Lake Park. Hoping to get back  to my running tomorrow.

 Yoga in the Park at 9:30am.   1 hour class at Battery Park, by Lake Ontario. . Led by Dallas from Studio 330 and sponsored By Lululemon in Kingston.
Great class, in a supportive environment.  I believe Yoga is very helpful for runners, and it will  help me to stay healthy. 

This afternoon rode my bike around and downtown.   Spent an hour or so at Ecco coffee.  Planning to watch some TV tonight on TVO

Saturday, June 01, 2013.    Juneathon  Blog  First official  day
 I am hoping i can stick to it.

  My day got off to a troubled start.  
I went to Tim Horton’s and had a small lunch and walked around town.
 4:30pm got on my bike and rode down to the Time Monument. Did a short warm-up and did my run. I ran along the edge of the lake to the Maritime Museum and then back along the path to the water plant and back to my bike. Lucky with my timing as dark clouds began rolling from the SW. the rain started as I got home.think the distance of my run was about 3.5K. (could be slightly longer)

Pleased with my run. I need to organize better. Fed my cats and will have my supper. Plans for the evening -  cook dinner and do some reading.
