Just before Midnight March 31

 Gorgeous day ,bright blue sky and Sun.   

mid afternoon  went for a run. Recorded the distance and splits on my Garmin. 
One thing is for certain, I run harder when  I use the Garmin..  I can glance at the watch and check on  my time distance and pace. 
my Garmin is the Forerunner 10. the least expensive model. it records all the info i need.   and so far , i am pleased. 

Did some shoppping  and this evening a large laundry. 4 loads of clothes and stuff. . 
 I am tired and its my bedtime.

Sunday March 30 - Did the Double

We got a lot of snow over night.
  My double - Yoga and a Run

This morning walked downtown  to Yoga class at Lululemon . Was  a good class and  the teacher gave us a  copy of her  CD  -
Yoga Nidra  (deep restoration through guided meditation) with Mona Warner. Very happy and I plan to use this. 

Late afternoon, did a 3.45 mile run. or 5.55 K.  Temperature was 37C and   the streest are messy and lots of slush and ice around. Happy i  managed to ge my run in, Used Forerunner and feeling  more confident.  

Time for supper , 
  Following March Madness. Keeping my fingers crossed Michigan makes it thru to the Final 4.

GPS Run and Record Keeping.

Busy day. Did a short run using  a Garmin  Forerunner 10. Took me sometime to set up an online account and figure out how to use it. Learned lots from this first attempt using GPS. The date feedback is very helpful. . But at the same time , i need to be realistic about what my goals are..  The model  10 is very basic. Think i will continue with it. 
 The data records interesting stuff and is more accurate that the way  i was doing.  I saved it online in Cyberspace... . 

I recorded the run in laps and miles.  ouch. i need  to get on the metric track.   

Cooked a pot  roast for supper.... not bad. 

So many things to do at the moment. ...

Friday Marcch 28

 This morning  I went to Physio at St Marys of the Lake - Providence Care. Very thankful for the therapy. My shoulder is healing very well. 

The sky are grey and it has been raining most of the day. Late afternoon, went for a run. Map My Run  program shows i did  9.88 K.
Longest run in sometime. Tired when I got home.   Very happy.

 Time for supper - Frozen Pizza and a side salad, and a dessert  (Kraft Delsisio from Loblaws).  
Planning to watch TV- probably  NCAA basketball . And do some reading , And hopefully some tidying up.

Long RUn . 8.20K. But not long enough.  Some hills but mostly flat. The cold is not helping. 

 Not sure what my plans are for the next 3 weeks. 
Take it one day at a time. 

Need to treat myself .. maybe some Asian food and a movie. or a rental . Big Sur, On the Road or  ???

Down Day - RuN was Okay

Went for a run 7.8K  Happy . 

Recent events and experiences have allowed me to  see myself differently and see the people i have contact with differently. 
. I have been trying to reconnect with people  in my past. The long past. And also trying to connect with new people ... .

It is possible to reconnect with some of the people who have been part of my life.... , But for the most part , I should  be in the present. I  should learn from my past experiences. 
Focus  - on my present ,. If  I really  want to go somewhere or do it, then i should get on with  doing  it. 
Look to the future. 
Time to stop rambling. 
I have lots of stuff to think about and I have  lots of projects tp finish.  I am  a busy woman.

Monday March 24 -3C Cold Spring Day

Late afternoon, did a 7.4K run.
not really enjoying my running. not sure why, partly the weather and part as i have to run to keep up my training. And the roads are too icy and slick to risk riding my bike. 

Defrosted Shepherds Pie for supper.  Good old fashioned comfort food. 
Planning to do some reading  this evening.

Weekend March 22 and 23

7.43 K run  Late Saturday  afternoon. okay with this run 
Sunday decided not to go to yoga  . Did a 3 K + jog this afternoon. 

 Have been watching March MADNESS. And it has been mad crazy this year. 
my bracket is doing okay. But if i had truly followed the schools I like, my bracket would be very good. 
Kansas - Stanford game .  . I went  with Kansas on my bracket,   and that was a mistake.   .....   I am a big fan of Stanford and  Stanford won and are moving onto the Sweet Sixteens..

My 2 Michigan teams made it, as did Florida and I'll have to edit this post later as i need to check the results. 

Got to put more effort and discipline into my running and preparation.

Friday March 21

Late afternoon managed a 7.1K RUN. Slow pace , the route - took me up a gentle hill on Johnson and onto  the Kingston Penn. Hill. 
 Need to do more hills.

Cooking supper - Orange Chicken Stir Fry with Rice. 
NCAA Hoops -   University of Michigan is my team, and hoping they  will make it thru to the Sweet 16. I also like Michigan State, Duke and ?

Tuesday March 18 - Did the Double

 Daytime temperature was above zero. Maybe Spring will arrive/ spring  in a couple of days....
The double was a run and a yoga based exercise class.

Did a 5K run in the afternoon, and this evening went to Move It or Lose It  at  Lululemon.  -  a class led by  message therapist -  Greg Moss  and assistant Dallas Delahunt . Was good  class - focused on weight  bearing  movements  and joint movements . 

Next week I should  focus on spring cleaning and organizing my apt.  and my training.

Double Workout - Yoga and Run

Yoga class at Lululemon 9:30am.   Walked there and back. - Not a great class.
Did a 5k run  in the late afternoon.  SLow , very slow  felt tired. 
 Not sure what is causing this tiredness. 
 Lots of stuff on my mind. That might be part of the answer.

Tired and heavy legs after yesterdays 8K effort. 
Today i did a 4.5K route.
I  had dig quite deep to finish the  route.. On a positive note,  ran at a very slow pace, but I finished. -without walking) ... 
 Not really sure what the cause of my fatigue is. Think, i should try to "run through it".

 Did some work on my Physio exercise routine. 
Made a salad  for supper. the key "green " i used was Kayle. its not as nice to eat as "Boston Lettuce", but its certainly a very popular green at Loblaws. think i prefer the baby swiss chard, kayle and spinach. 
i am eating  organic bananas. and an organic salad mix. Not sure if there is a taste in difference .  there is a substantial difference in price between organic and "regular " or non organic.  The price difference is very high for organic milk and organic raised meat is substantial. ...

Winter Storm Warning

 Injured my shoulder in December. I took a nasty fall on the ice.It still bothers me. Had a referral  for Physio at St Marys of the Lake - Providence Care  from my family doc. Had an early morning apt. Happpppy i went, have some exercises and a plan to correct the shoulder and tendinitous  . Now its up to me to do the work,.... Next appointment is Wednesday next.. 
 There is a snow storm raging outside , have decided not to run. its windy and lots of ice. Too risky for falling.  
 I was planning/hoping to do  longer runs this week. The weather is upsetting my training plans

slow run - but i did it

I took a small hiatus last week- not running for 3 or 4 days. Trying to get back to where i was  - the distances i was doing is proving to be very difficult.
I walked down town earlier in the day . approx. 5K .
My run today was slow and painful approx 7K. - I had to push myself to finish .  But, I did  managed to put in the distance.

Sunday, I went to Yoga at Lululemon. And did lots of walking approx .- 9K to yoga and later shopping and to coffee shop. 

Today, Monday:
Did a slow run 6.1K . Need to motivate myself to run everyday and focus  on distance - kilometers.. 

Joined Daily Mile. going to give it a try. Gather its very popular.

Saturday March 8

 Spent lot of time walking taking care of business and doing some light shopping.  Walked about 9K . 
Late afternoon did a 5k run.  This week has  a low number week in terms of K's that i have run. 

 Fantastic sunset. think  lot of the sky was caused by the Northern Lights.  what a sky i saw on my jog. it was streaked in varying shades of red and pink and black and white.

Friday March 7

Two days off from running.....,  Managed to get a run in today. 
Wednesday, I went to Toronto. It was not quite the trip I had hoped for.  Took Mega bus.  We were over 1 hour late leaving Kingston, due to mechanical problems on the bus.  They had send a new bus and after transferring buses we went to TO>.  Probably better to have problems in KTown than on the 401.401 traffic
 It was still nice to spend a day in the "big city". shopped around  Yong and Eglinton and   wandered around the  downtown area. I  had a look at the stuff i was interested in. 
 Thursday, I was tired and decided i really  wasn't up to running.
 This afternoon, it was a balmy minus 1C . 
 Must get back to serious running . ...Ran 4.9K

Busy day. Did my run in light snow fall. The road conditions gave my leg muscles  a good going and work out.  Happy that i got the run in. distance 7.46 K. 
 Weather Channel - the conditions were not ideal for running.

  Sunday went to a great yoga class at Lululemon - Kingston.    the class was lead by Amy from ABD Wellness
 Late afternoon had  a coffee at Starbucks and Read the weekend newspapers.
Just got back from my run . Very cold -15C, I did a 6.44K run. quite pleased as the ice on the roads and sidewalks has to traversed very carefully.

Voted in the  Jog Blog PJ's plank challenge . voted for # 10 .

March 01.

Yesterday, (Feb.28) was one of those days. i managed to do my volunteer commitment with the heart and Stroke group.  Not happy with this group, will not do it again. Would prefer to do work for Sandy Pines Wild Life  or the SPCA.
I am doing a test over at KGH on Monday, for a respiratory study. it pays me a stipend. The contacts i have had - sense i made a mistake getting involved. have to keep my fingers crossed its okay.
Yesterday,i did a run in very cold conditions. (minus 12  or maybe more).7.9K Run.                                        
Things are not great with me here in Kingston. I need to think about the situation here. I need to  figure out if I want to continue to live here.

 Todays run was 6.57K. Pleased as the last 2K (est) I ran at a very good pace. Would like this to be my race pace.  I am a dreamer.
